Tess has a very special place in my heart. She reached out to me when I was going through a hard time and sacrificed time and fuel to drive to my house several days a week to walk and pray with me in the early mornings. God used her to minister to my heart and refocus my life on Him. Besides that, we just get along really well! She married her wonderful husband about this time last year and I had the privilege of photographing their wedding! That was such a beautiful one and I really should make a blog post about it. Now they are expecting their first child in about a month! The gender will be a surprise, but if I was a betting woman, I would place bets on it being a boy. 😉 I guess we will see!
It was so important to me to fly over to Wyoming to visit them because at the end of this week they will be moving to Ecuador to give their lives in service to the native people in the tribes there and tell the the good news of Jesus and His offer of salvation. They are prepared to sacrifice everything and have such a love for people they have never even met. That kind of passion and love has to be put there by God Himself and they are simply stepping out in obedience. I am so proud of them and Sam and I are blessed to call them friends.
This maternity session was quick and sweet and only gave me one near heart attack. I had left my camera bag open on the ground with thousands of dollars of cameras and lenses inside and I looked over my shoulder to see three cows sniffing it! I yelled, “Don’t smash my camera!” and thankfully Jesse ran over and scared them off without trampling my precious equipment. Lesson learned to never leave my bag unguarded in a cow pasture. Haha!
Tess, I am so thankful for you and I look forward to the day that we can see each other again. You are going to be a wonderful mom and Godly example to all around you.
